Thread: server status as of now

after talking a little bit with snowfox, i have the low down on the server info.

apparently the bill was not paid, and there is an additional $150 needed to get it back up

if people where to donate more it would be up faster, i am just relaying this information to you guys so please do not turn this into a hate post.

i know people have been donating, i have also pitched in some money. so please do not shoot the messenger or Jason for that matter, he is trying very hard to bring the game back to life. as we all are

well that is the info i have for all, if you are going to take anything out of this at least take this post as some fresh information coming into the community.

ARGH I hate the world, no strangers will hire me!!! Only people that know I am very good employee are my friends and family and there isn't anywhere to work with them. This totally blows!!!!!!!!!

I'm in college however... slow class CSCI 192 (Intro Program Logic & Design) very very basic **** man... I'm just dying with anticipation to use Alice then next semester go into something more thrilling as C# or C++ or JAVA, SOMETHING more enlightening!!

i understand why you are confused, i think a lot of people are Sam, and there is much we all can do but wait (unless you want to donate)

well i have a question do u think if everyone kept donating we could have some spawn events or something. i know telos and jason are working. and atm im not working wish i was but trying to pass my classes then when i get a job i will be sure to donate the money i dont have long before school is done but i have to concentrate on my end to graduate so hehe. but i might donate my last money to jason

i know this for a fact, if Jason gets people to help him support the server. and i am talking about everyone not just generous people like Hell or me (sorry if you have donated and i missed you).

but if he gets help supporting us i am sure he will be more than happy to get on and host some crazy events with some high value drops, but as of now he is having a really hard time, i don't know if that is any encentive for other to toss some money into this but i hope it is.

any amount is great accepted and not taken fro granted. and he is willing to talk about rewards he thinks are worth the money amount you give.

You are not going to believe this but apparently the cost is now actually 350. Some kind of fees they are assessing or something. How do you go from 170 a month, to owing 350 plus the 150 i sent less than 48 hours ago. I dont know what to say. I cant do any more money 150 was a big sacrifice on my part already.

I think we need a public calendar with the day the server bill is due and a forum thread with everyone who donates each month to track the donations. That way we can all see when we reach the goal for the month and can tell when its getting close and someone needs to anti up.

Its going to be up to someone else to come up with this 350, 150 is more than a reasonable donation from me. Especially since this will be a monthly contribution (not 150 but at least 50 likely)

well im thinking of giving another 25 bucks i just certainly tried to find out how much i have on my gift cards so i will be able to send some more money so just need to wait until dad isnt busy so i can give him the gift card then he can trasnfer the money again but i will need to be told which donation to send it to

well i found out that i have 25 bucks on one gift card then the other 4.36 for two of my gift cards then my other three i have all together 20.75 so i will be willing to send 29 bucks of what my two other gift cards have then thats all i will put in for now

so i will send the 25 bucks but have to tell rene/dad so ya. and after i send it that should cover another gold account for me so i will have 2 soon as i send the next amount to jason but still needthe donations email thing for paypal and need to know if its up so i can send it

Not good...not good at all.

I have been talking with Jason and these are all totally legit chargers even if they are totally stupid. We as a group of gamers supporting this thing owe 350 bucks to get it back up and the server fee of $179 will be due on the 20th. That is every 20th. If we can get this up and running now i think we can handle the monthy server fees if everyone chips in.

Well lets see, Majin Roe paid for two months of hosting back on Dec 20th. We should be covered now. Then we got hit with a $250 maintenance fee. Now because of what can only be described as negligence, we are being hit up with a $500 late fee. This is completely unacceptable and it's not going to work.

Someone has some explaining to do and it isn't Hellbinder. As far as anyone knows next week we'll be asked for more and more and it will never stop. This is no way to be running a game people.

I say before anyone pays anymore we get some assurance that this doesn't happen again. I also say we need the finances to be completely open so that everyone knows exactly how much money is coming in and what it's being spent on.

well i have a question for the accounts we paid we jason said we have to wait but i dont think thats an option so i think we should simply enjoy what gold accounts we had back then and add them into beta and when beta is over i also think that beta/gold accounts should be put into the Live EA bc its fair to have both accounts u created instead of just leaving those accounts behind just drag them along and keep having fun like say this that i have that spiked armor i could just give that armor to my blob Turahk my first blob i ever made so its like we have dual accounts but anyway. i think it would be good to add the gold accounts into beta bc if u bought something u should have it added. bc jason said we had to wait and if the payments get low its like well will it continue if we all pitchin to have beta over and go live bc im confused bc im really anxious of playing my gold account and seeing that i still have everything on him. but anyway thats all i have to say right now except that i want my gold account but jason said to wait and i am its just bothering that if u paid for something wouldnt u want to play it and make sure every item from gold is on your character and all that

Quwan. It has already been stated repeatedly that beta accounts will roll over into post beta play. It has also been repeatedly stated that gold accounts will not be reactivated until the end of beta. At a time when we are trying to scratch together enough cash to get the game server back up, try to be a little more constructive.

Yea ace said something that made sense for once, i basically agree with him.

How come every game like Gunz,Runescape,etc, has a ****load of cash? If only jason makes somethen very fun and wanting like say members, like gold or w\e.. If he can add that back, switch every thing back or w\e u want to do.. And add more features, like more mini games, random events,etc.. If this server is going to stay low with stuff = not much players and not much cash.. Take a look at runescape, they got over 100k users.. Try to describe that one, lul. Jason the game is going into boring mode atm, i do like it, im sure every one on here does.

Edit: Theres 1 way u can make this, More Non gold or members, Boring as hell. And take some skills out for non gold or w\e..
Edit2: Also for gold or members make even more skills, items,armour,quest etc.

I think now would be a great time to consider a free server or something. The time that the game is down now because of costs will probably be equal to that of a free server or w/e. Honestly its not worth it to be putting in this much money just to not have enough. Maybe save up some money for possible costs in the future while on a free server? Seriously this is rediculous

jason should add a random event, like quiz's and stuff, like u take it, u make 100% and u win a item or cash be fun as hell

i absolutely agree...this is getting ridiculous. I would rather have the game hosted on a free server (and have it back up in a few days when it goes down), rather than waiting for Jason to bring the server back up OR waiting for people to donate money for server costs (or in this case having to pay MORE now cuz of fees >_<)...again, like Solo said...seriously, this is ridiculous...

i just dont get the extra 150 they tacked on i mean i talked to them its 20 to get it back up and a 50 reconnect fee or whatever, so thats 70 weres the extra 80 foor?

The fees are very legit and it isnt negligence. A free server is not an option. The server hosting company in question my be pin headed but they are quality. The speed and ping times are fantastic. Once this gets smoothed out the server costs will not be a killer.

The game will take time to develope but as you know it is more than worth it.

I don't know of any but Jason was certainly talking about this before so... if it could be done do it... I could certainly use 180 dollars a month if you guys would like to donate to me..seriously, something needs to change.

First of all Hellbinder I don't know why you are here telling us these things. As far as I can tell you've only been back a few days, and other than throwing your money away I don't see what makes you so qualified. The way you talk it's like Jason is telling you what's going on but not us the community. That doesn't sit well at all with me.

Here's a breakdown on what has been spent on hosting for Jan 20 - Feb 20 billing period:

Paid by Majin Roe $180
Maintenance Fee 250
Paid by Hellbinder 150
Total 580

Now, if the forums weren't buggered up I could easily go back and look this info up for you and verify with links. But that is hardly necessary because anyone who's been here since we went to a dedicated, paid server knows what has happened. Nobody is making up numbers.

I do agree that free hosting is not an option. It's been tried and failed.

um hey ace i think it would be good to bring up from the recent months that have been paid and ask people whom donated then u can show it on forums. like i whom paid 30 but i dont that aint much so

Afex, if you believe Hellbinder we need $350 more than the $580 that's already been put towards this month's hosting fees...and you are absolutely sure nothing like this will ever happen again because, well, it just can't.

I am personally beginning to believe that in order to get EA going strong, we need to have a closed paid beta. Like $10 a month, and you can pay extra on the trading post and donate if you want other stuff.
I know for sure that there is at least 10-15 people that would pay to play, but thats only like $150. Then you have people who are willing to donate like $20 at least a month.
The only problem with this, dosent let new players experience everything. Bt or something would have to be set up, and perhaps open up 4f just to add a little more incentive. New players are not going to donate, but they will help keep EA alive, and there is always the chance that after playing a while they will pay 2 play.
Idk, seems like it wouldent work to me, but it seems like this isnt going to work forever. People can only donate so much, and so many times...
Torn, you need to donate like 1500 to keep it going for hte next 3 months XD.

Imma go watch a movie and see how this plays out. I will leave with this note though, I agree with Acerbic, this **** should not be happening again and would be stupid if it did happen again.
