Thread: Internal Game Macros?

Ok i making this thread to see if you or Snowfox could insert a INTERNAL MACRO something like AC Tool but better it can be used for-Engi. Alch. Smithy. SS. Hiding(Just set a key to jump and hide your set)
Something like that but inside the game its an extra option like it would have a list

Inventory
Trade
Clan
Group
Set-up Macro(Something like that?)
I personally like the idea cause in the past i had troubles with EVERY single macro i tryed and they never worked for what there for.I just thought it might be cool to enhance the game like that or something?

id say the engy smith and alchy ones ya but ur not really suposed to macro ss or hiding XD

You aren't supposed to macro anything...it's third party program usage.

for hide you can just bind jump and hide to spacebar then wedge it down with a coin or paper clip. then find somewhere good to hide where people can't push you out of SZ :P

Yes precisley with hiding get a big fat WAD of paper lol like this thick- and your good for the next year or 2 Oh and i did not know macros for SS and Hiding were not allowed cuz people in macro sections put up AC tool.

I don't see how macroing any skills would be allowed. Why would cheating be promoted? Trade skills were already able to create a specified number of items at a time.

Actually they allowed macroing for non combat skills as long as you weren't in big cities or anything and were out of the way. Alch/Eng/Smith used to have ingame macro things (Make x amount of these) but when RR got the Aura engine they threw that part out of it I think.

im just saying lol im all for trade skilsl but for everything else, just get a coin, wedge it in ur keyboard and there ya go

Macroing on a Mob is the only kind of macro that is illegal.
--Trade Skill Macros have to be used because the function of (How Many Would you Like to Build) was taken out.

I was quiet the pro at taping my mouse and putting it on my space bar. It'd last for an hour or two......then my computer would run into some type of error

ya I agree with murky, Macro'in should be banned completly. it ruins the game, it makes things way easy to get and you arn't really playin the game, you are setting a macro so that you can become the best engie or whatever in the game. then you watch TV while you train....

Macro'ing is for the lazy and those who don't wanna play the game they just wanna beat it. so my vote is Ban macro'ing.

Macroing is handy when you're shooting simple stuff like eyezion,.. prevents RSI

Ok if we got rid of macroing.....10 months later yea i just got lvl 12 its pretty sweet.Than an old player talking WTH i cant lvl!!!!!?!?!?!Lol trust me guys you would be desperate for macroing-it would happen you couldn't bare to not cuz who wants to click and click when you will probably be reported if your not active...its really not the brightest idea to ban it.It is a useful thing i think we should keep it.Trust me i have came across alot of macroers and never saw one not doing that i think they would be much more suited with it not be banned

If the 'macroing' in question will affect the gameplay of other players, such as dragging a mob somewhere to shoot it for hours in a row, it should not be allowed. However, trade skilling in some obscure corner will not bother anyone.

see devour i didnt macro my MC or ss well i startedss when it hit 15 but thats about it its not hard to lvl just sit at ashdra for a few hoursand there ya go i know alotta people who used to devote hours sititng at Des and eye to lvl lol

The game is super easy already, the only thing that took any time was leveling these skills that everyone just macroed anyway. Your macros remove the only time consuming part of the entire game.

And don't tell me the game isn't easy. I put new characters in 13 armor with gun quests done in 3 days.

Basically, if you are going to macro skills like that, then that is your choice, but I disagree with having the game support your laziness.

back in the day u couldn't really sit still and shoot mobs neways since they'd actually hit u

Leveling offa stuff like eyezion wouldn't/shouldn't be possible.
The problem is the low player base imo... if there were more newbies around it wouldn't be such a ***** to be one.
Right now, if you're a new joiner,.. you're like the only newb for weeks,.. then maybe someone else shows up but by then you are really much higher level than that new guy is.

Kudos to the one who can get to lvl 18 in any tradeskill without macroing. Have fun not playing the actual game because all your active play time is going into tradeskills.

Well I agree that macros shouldnt allowed but the amount of mob killing for quests will get you to maybe level 8 in MC/WT...And I remember way back my bros turn to use the internet so I would go to BT in the tavern or w.e and sit on a beam and macro alchy while the internet lagged like balls.
Trade skill macro is the same as it was except you have to use a program now.
Quests get you no where near all the way through the game so there is more content then quests allow....even questing takes grinding...
so unless you want to destroy your hand clicking for trade skills there is no other way

I remember macro partys in boosterThey were awesome!!!There would be like 10-20 noobs at a time killing stouts on top of like the AP gidion place or something and we would talk and sit and macro it was pretty cool

The above is the kind of macroing that's been illegal throughout the whole game's history, and would get a gm to shoot you down to the lauders themselves so they could rape you.

Illegal or not it should not be removed/banned its pointless to ban someone/somebody for macroing...

It's not pointless if the GMs reset all your stats to starter levels after they catch you multiple times.

it's technically only an illegal macro if you are not at the keyboard paying attention to the game. afk macroing combat skills is illegal but setting a macro to shoot and reload for you isn't really illegal if you are active(basically watching your char do the lvling) but that is mainly because you can't prove someone is macroing it if they respond when you talk to them.

also to anyone who says macroing of trade skills shouldn't be allowed, just because you can devote the insane amount of time needed to lvl them while sitting there doesn't mean everyone playing has no life.

well i usually only macro stuff when im at my comp watching tv nect to it so youd enver know XD

Yall say you use macro'ing cause the game is hard? or you use macroing to make it easy or whatever. As murky said this game is really easy as is. Yall know I play anarchy and they have 220 levels in that game, I am level 208 only and have played that character to levle him up for 216 hours (that is 216 hours of being logged on that character and watching the screen and crap)

Compared to any other game that arn't counted as kiddy games this game is very easy!!! I mean I said I had spent 216 hours playing? I am 208 and I got 12 of the hardest levels in the game, which will take 60 hours of gameplay itself.. easy. then I have to hunt the items which is another 150 hours of gameplay.

..... and you can make a character that is halfway to doing the main part of the game in 3 days... and that is hard? Wow...

Well I am sticking to my vote of Macroing beging banned completely. for TS skills and Fighting skills. that is all I felt like saying.

i just think the level cap for this thing needs to be bumped up considerably. The game needs to grow. most of us have all the quests in this game down to a science. mostly because nothing has changed. same same same stuff. other then the need to fix bug issues, this game needs new content and shiz.

About the comparison to AO, AO is so different from EA that I believe you can't compare the two. A skillful AO player isn't necessarily gonna own in EA.

Blacknight, just out of curiosity; did you ever get any tradeskill in EA to 17 or higher without macroing? Do you really think people would bother getting there by staring at their screen for countless hours, repeating the same simple boring action day after day until their eyes fall out? I don't =P

I'm sure most people don't want to spend a large chunk of their play time working on trade skills.

1. I never said someone that plays AO would be good at EA. and I am comparing the Time it takes to complete the games to each other.

2. No. But I don't much. and I mean seriously.... almost everyone could make their own potions back when I left the game... because people would start a macro and go to sleep and wake up 5 levels higher (at lower lvls) then in just a week or so they would have Maxed Potion making or what not. Makes the game take no skill or time of your own. Just set a macro and bam your maxed your characters. Then all you do is quests and PVP no grinding at all.....

Every 30 minutes or less i check the comp if i shoot and lvl!I think thats like half badBut its alright cuz im actually looking at a screen other wise!THE TV!irus06

GMs give you 5 minutes. So 30 mins clearly isn't often enough to check back. 5/6 (otherwise 25 mins out of 30, cause you might get lucky between the 25 and 30 min mark) times a GM asks if you're there you won't respond, and thusly get sent to be nomed on by whatever you're shooting.

ok Blacknight, if u want to sit at ur computer for idk 2 weeks just cliking a mouse over and over, u keep saying ban tradeskill macros, they were in the game in the first place for a reason, there toooooo time consuming
