Thread: Vehicles.

    Vehicles.

    Not saying its a lacking subject...

    But hey, its nice to be able to have a few different things.

    Maybe like a sub or possibly a hovercraft that can stay airborne longer than under a minute.

    Mech's would also be cool, like the one in display at the human base.

    Also, one thing to add.. by the time you get them in the game you would already have a nice jetpack and possibly a nice arsenal. (Possibly some starter vehicles, like a lite hovercraft right at the start, for when you do not have a jetpack.)

    ^Just the tip of the iceburg.

    Theres no problem starting new threads on suggestions. In fact, there needs to be a suggestion sub-forum under discussions imo. One thread isn't enough to elaborate on many ideas, most need their own thread to think things out in an organized way.

    Although I have to disagree with the hover vehicle while without a jetpack. the whole incentive to get the jetpack is being slow. I played as a BL trust me I know slow. Would be nice to re-implement the vehicle quests though, which of course will need some fixing i understand.

    Yeah the mech would be cool. Kinda strange that the mech in the trendor shop wasnt available. It would have to be in a quest of course. I imagine it to be like a sarin attack but slower. It would have the driver some what exposed, so the player can receive damage if shot, although it wont be easy to kill them necessarily because the mech will add to the player's armor stats rather than having its own. If the mech is attacked rather than the person driving, it has a certain health were if it exceeds it, the mech will be destroyed and put back in storage, the player will have to fix it with parts bought at the store.

    Just throwing that out there for further elaboration. I still don't like the idea of a hovercraft when you dont have a jet pack, its redundant. If there was a mini hovercraft to use then jp would be scrapped and a system to upgrade the hovercraft would be made. In the end its all the same, and rather pointless.

    Its fine, and no.. I was not meaning the type of hovercraft that would actually fly..

    Just like a slighter faster form of transportation right at startout... rather than walking EVERYWHERE. It would also probably not come off of the ground, aside from a quick boost (Jump)

    But that defeats the purpose of the first jet pack. It also means that walking is gone, why walk when you have this little hovercraft. There is a reason why the jet pack was made and this hovercraft is just a way for people to be lazy and get more now. The jetpack system works for the most part and I see no reason to make this hovercraft. It just takes away from the incentive of having a jet pack.
    Time can be better spent on other things....

    Well if you have actually rode on a hover craft IRL you would soon find out they float on water and dont fly!Ive been on one!

    Well if you have rode on a hovercraft IRL you would soon find out they float on any surface via a column of air beneath them, water or ground it doesn't matter. I haven't been on one!

    Starter hover thing = Faster travel before jetpack.
    Jetpack = Flight.

    Simple.

    It takes an hour tops to get the jet pack, that is simple. creating a whole new hovercraft thing just to save some one a couple minutes of their time that they spend gaming any way is not simple.

    Now think about it for a minute, EA is a great game, but it needs improvement. A larger diversity of transportation means is a good start, wouldn't you agree? The addiction level is already off the charts, so why not push it a little further?

    so your saying that giving a starter vehicle for only a couple hours worth of use is an appropriate use of resources? I think not, and a hovercraft made solely to make lazy players happy is not something that attracts me.

    I suppose there is also the issue of smaller spaces with multiple large vehicles contending for moving room, this can be fixed though if the whole world is being entirely revamped, such as adding large wastelands (or forests, tundra, etc etc) and making larger vehicles useable only outside of living areas? | I don't believe many would enjoy this idea, but what if the jetpacks were reserved for later use? When you think about it, jetpack technology is very advanced compared to simple vehicles; What if vehicles were moved into the center of the transportation ring?

    Its not being entirely lazy, just shortening the time-span between walking from one place to another.

    I mean legs are cool and stuff, but a floating bike is better >:I

    Why change whats not broken? jet packs may be more advance by your perception but who said vehicles have not also advanced? Vehicles are larger, more complex, more expensive and require many more working parts. So a vehicle in EA is more complex than a jet pack

    Why hold back development into something greater than what it is? Vehicles give a greater means of land speed, whereas jetpacks give the freedom of flight. What isn't broken can be fortified.
    I also forgot to mention that I used advanced as a relative term, all vehicles (Jetpacks included) are complex. Complex is a very flexible term.

    Funny, I was going to say that.. I have nothing more to add unless I am given a problem with which to fix, besides the fact that Polycycles should be harder to get than our jetpacks or (hopefully) starter vehicles

    poly cycles are harder to get than jet packs. they had a quest and parts you had to quest for.

    Poly cycles are like the longest quest if they let you do the whole quest.Lastime you could get to a certain part and you couldn't goon.(22 STEPs)

    Poly's are ftw, but I think all should have flight imo.
    Really just some starter vehicles to get around early-on is what I was saying..

    But mechs, subs and a type of air vehicle that does not look like a wheel would be a nice to have, also adding to that.. the ones that are unarmed should be faster or more agile.
